Caribbean Bloggers Need To Be Noticed

Caribbean Bloggers Need To Be Noticed

Caribbean Bloggers Need To Be Noticed more by brands and other countries. I know this is totally different from what I normally post on Monday’s but I felt the need to write this post. In my opinion caribbean bloggers are not recognized enough especially when it comes to working with brands.

A lot of the times when working with a brand or wanting to apply. It always says United States, United Kingdom & Canada. To work with a brand sometimes, you have to get a US shipping address from a company to actually be able to be qualified for a job. Which sometimes cost an arm and a leg depending on the weight of the product. I have read so many blogs that are from the Caribbean and their content is amazing. I read articles and blogs from all over the world and everyone deserves the chance to work with brands. Brands should not limit themselves to just US, UK or CA.

I have reached out to brands many times and as soon as they hear you are from the caribbean. Their response is they don’t have any collabs available for bloggers outside the US but they will keep it in mind for future reference. While some do not respond any at all. Working with companies when doing fashion posts they don’t limit you to where you are from. I know the brands are not big brands but their products are of great quality and they collaborate with people all around the world, no questions asked.

Maybe I am the one looking in the wrong direction when it comes to working with brands. Am I the only one who thinks this way. Even when I try to join surveys where you can get rewards or things of that nature you see many other countries except Caribbean countries. Every blogger no matter where in the world they are should be able to work with brands all over the world.

There are times when there is a brand you love and you are always using their products and you want to work with them and you can’t. Why?. Because you are not from the US, UK or CA. Another problem is. It is hard for caribbean bloggers to receive their money from paypal. If you don’t have a US account you are doomed!!. And you can’t use the caribbean US accounts that you can create at the banks near you because it won’t work. Maybe I am not educated enough on this. I could be wrong but as far as I know it is quite difficult for caribbean bloggers like myself as a blogger.

Another thing is subscription boxes!! You can’t really find a subscription box that will ship to the Caribbean which sucks. One day I discovered a Jamaican subscription box by the name of Sugarplum. I was so excited!!. I did my first unboxing on my youtube channel lat year. I’m awaiting the latest box to be delivered so be on the look out. A blog post and a video will be coming. It is everything and more than I expected!!

I started blogging because of my passion for writing, not to do it because you can make money from it. If you can do something you love and also make an income at the same time then why not!!. Am i right or am i right?. Before I go last but not least. The Caribbean needs to recognize bloggers more!!. Thank you for reading!! Don’t forget to subscribe so you won’t miss a post!!

Yesss, I definitely feel you on this with subscription boxes. I’ve seen some that I’d like to receive but can’t because of location. Plus going through third party shippers is expensive AF. Even with giveaways being limited to the US/UK/CA sigh

I completely agree. I’m not Caribbean.. I’m actually a Nigerian born in the UK but I can still see exactly what you’re saying. Diversity is seriously lacking in the blogging community and more people need to speak on it. Great post!

Ugh I cannot imagine how frustrating it is. Have you tried reaching out to brands with the idea of expanding their brand to the carribean more?

I agree with you doll. But I am sure that there are big brands who do business in the Caribbean. Maybe you should get in touch with those brands. But I agree with you on all the points.

I’m not a Caribbean blogger, but I can definitely understand your frustration. I hope that you are able to find brands that are more than willing to work with and accommodate you, love. You are an awesome blogger and you have a wealth of talent to share. Here’s to more opportunities in the near future!

This is so true. I am from the Caribbean and it’s very hard to work with brands overseas and even locally as well, especially when I tell them that I am a Mental Health, Wellness and Lifestyle Blogger/Writer, but I have found once one is persistent, working with brands whether locally, regionally or internationally, despite the expenses does have it rewards. I would not give up.

I have been struggling with this for the better part of a decade. Brands rarely offer partnerships, giveaways etc with Caribbean bloggers and when they do it’s often half-assed.

I so agree with you hun. As you know I’m Jamaican but lives in Canada since a teen but I can only imagine your frustration. I’m not too verse on the subject about Caribbean bloggers are not recognized but you are right, they should definitely be recognized; all bloggers should be, no matter where they’re from. I think it might be about the cost why that is….no excuse but it always comes to money and if the brands aren’t going to benefit, then they won’t want to work with the bloggers. Sad but true… x

You are so true. I am based in the Caribbean and I operate a natural beauty and lifestyle blog on a full-time bases, which for me is very hard to find and get natural beauty brands to work with me, but I am also a natural beauty copywriter (writing product descriptions), which is very slow, but I am hanging in there and hopefully the brands will come around.

Hey Avion I totally understand what your going through. My blog fluctuates too but I try not to watch the views I try to focus on the fact that I am helping someone out there even if I don’t know it. But at the same time knowing your doing so pushes you to do more. I’d love to connect with you.
