6 Home Remedies for Cold and Flu

There are many home remedies out there that can treat colds and flu, but not all works, some do and some don’t. Today I will share with you remedies that have worked for me.
Being sick isn’t a nice thing you feel weak your eyes water, your stuffy, sneezing, coughing, you feel hot and cold you name it. These are remedies that will make the healing process faster

Garlic is wonderful to use for cold and flu, it’s an antibiotic and also an antiseptic, the garlic can be taken as a capsule which is sold in most health stores or you can cut the garlic into small pieces and swallow it with fruit juice or you can boil the garlic and have it as a tea, it helps to clear your clogged throat, helps in sweating out fever and also helps in easing your sore throat.
Ginger, boiling a few slices of the ginger will help to soothe a sore throat or a cough, it is also great to use for feelings of nausea which you some times have when you have a cold.
Honey, honey contains antimicrobial and antibacterial properties which is great for helping with cold and flu all you need to do is mix honey in some warm lemon juice and drink it it will help with the soreness of your throat and helps to be more calm so you can get some rest despite how your feeling, also the honey is a great cough suppressant.
Vitamin C, can help in clearing up your colds because of the many benefits it has which you can read here, it will help in boosting your immune system and help you get back to normal. Vitamin c is best had when you are getting over the cold to give you that extra boost in fully recovering.
Vapour Rub,I can tell you from experience I have been using vicks from I was a little girl whenever I had a cold my mom would rub it under my nose in my chest and on my back, it helps to reduce congestion opens up the nostrils if stuffy and helps to combat coughing, it does a really amazing job and helps you in sleeping better, some people may mot like the smell but it is worth using in the end.
Golden Seal, not many know about this but when you are starting to have a sore throat using the golden seal root to gargle your throat and drinking some as warm as you can have works a great lot it even stops the sore throat so you won’t get sick. It’s a little on the bitter side but it works wonders. You can find out more about golden seal here.
Ensure you have lots of liquids especially more natural juices and water, avoid cold drinks, milk, chocolate and anything dairy, because that helps to make you more congested and takes the healing process longer.
