10 Things You Need To Let Go To Be Happy. There are a lot of unwanted feelings that you carry around in your heart, especially when you have been hurt by others. That hurt stays with you for sometime and most of the time which puts a damper on you. It makes you even push away someone who may be the right person for you.

So i’m gonna share with you 10 things you need to let go to be at peace and be happy.

1. Perfect Life

No matter what you do or try to do your life will never be perfect. Life itself is not perfect so stop trying to perfect everything in your life. Stop trying to do everything because things happen, let go and let God take the lead in your life and your situations. Let him guide you to making a better life because nothing and no one will ever be perfect in this world.

2. Your Baggage

Stop carrying baggage from the past into your new relationship because it puts a strain on the relationship. You keep thinking he or she is the same like your last relationship even when they are not. I totally know what that’s like because i am one of those persons. Your mindset won’t change over night but you at least have to try and leave that baggage behind and get a new luggage to go with the new relationship. What i mean by this is fix your thoughts and don’t judge. Let them prove themselves to you before you go thinking or saying they are the same.


Negative thoughts won’t put you anywhere but mess with your mind. If your first negative thought is when he or she doesn’t answer the phone is that he or she is cheating on you. You need to change that thought and say maybe they are busy doing something important. Think of something positive instead of negative because the negativity will only play on your mind and let you do stupid and irrational things. Instead train your mind to have positive thoughts instead of the negative.

4. The Past

Whatever happened in your past leave it where it is whether good or bad memories. Yes they happened and sometimes it’s good to talk about it to get it off your chest. But don’t keep repeating it or bringing it up in every conversation or argument your having. For eg: Lets say someone from your past does something different from your present don’t rub it in their face and compare them to the other person. Everyone does things and grasps things differently so, once you have that convo about things that have happened in your past close that chapter right there and bring it no further. The person or persons are in the past for a reason right so leave them right there.

5. Expectations

Having expectations can be a good and a bad thing. When you expect too much from someone and they don’t live up to those expectations that’s where disappointment and hurt comes in. Never go into a relationship with too much expectation of the other, just take things one day at a time and let things flow. When you go into it with little to no expectations and then that person exceeds your expectations that is amazing right. At the same time if that person disappoints you know that you didn’t go into the relationship expecting too much so it won’t hurt so bad. Learn to expect the unexpected and take things one day at a time.

6. Depending On Others For Happiness

Don’t depend on someone for your happiness. Happiness comes from within, no one can make you or your life happy but you. Find a positive and happy thing that has happened out of each day do your best to stay positive because empowering yourself. Never you dare depend on a man or woman to make you happy because when that happiness is gone then what?!. Do what makes you happy and be happy for yourself and with yourself.

7. Thoughts Of Your Ex

He or she is your ex for a reason so stop trying to find ways and means to blame yourself or think it’s all your fault. Stop thinking about what could have been or what would happen if you did things differently. Whether things ended on a good or bad note thoughts of your ex is a no no. You’re just sending yourself into a dark whole that you may not recover from. Focus on your present instead of what could have been.

8. Idea Of A Perfect Person

No one is perfect and will never be. I’m not saying you can’t look for specific qualities in a person. Sometimes the type of man or woman you want, that’s not what God wants for you. Maybe the opposite of what your looking for is what’s best for you. Not every one is gonna be cute or pretty, it’s whats on the inside and whats in their heart no whats on the outside. The outside should be just a bonus, and you won’t always find every quality your looking for in one person because everyone has their flaws.

9. Approval Of Others

You don’t need the approval of others to live your life. Live your life for you and what you want to do with your life. Don’t seek approval from others to do whats best for you. And don’t feel that because someone doesn’t approve of you or what your doing means you should stop. Who cares what they think. Having that who cares mentality will help you along the way because if you keep seeking approval from others you will always be the last one left on the train.

10. The Need For Control

Stop trying to control everything and everyone around you!!. Take a breather and go with the flow take things a day at a time, sometimes things are beyond your control so stop trying to always control everything and everyone. Relax!!! and take things in strides.
